MEANING BEHIND THE NAME SPECTACULAR BID

To honor the heritage of this beautiful land, each of the streets at the Farm were named after famous race horses.  Spectacular Bid “was a champion American Thoroughbred racehorse, who holds the world record for the fastest 1 1/4 miles on the dirt. In a racing career which lasted from 1978 through 1980, Spectacular Bid won 26 of his 30 races, including the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes. In his career, Spectacular Bid earned a then-record sum of US $2,781,607.
