Window of Opportunity Still Open for Buyers

You may have noticed that interest rates were on the rise over the past few months, due to anticipation that the Fed would reduce their level of bond purchases. Instead, Fed recently announced that they would continue their current pace of purchasing bonds until the economy is stronger. As a result, rates actually decreased. However, industry experts expect the Fed to taper the bond purchasers in December, allowing a small window of opportunity for buyers.

If you are in the market to buy, make sure to take advantage of this window of opportunity, as experts except interest rates to rise upwards of 5% by this time next year.

Colorado Springs Suburb Named 3rd Least Expensive in the Nation

Cimarron Hills of Colorado Springs was named the 3rd least expensive suburb in the nation, according to Movoto.  Cost of living, food and utility costs, housing affordability, property tax rates and state income tax rates and sales tax, were all considered in the review of 139 suburbs of the 50 largest cities in the United States, using the Census as a source. The study found that Cimarron Hills’ cost of living is 6 points below the national average, while property taxes are 53% below the national average.
